For this episode of Healing the Nations Podcast, we are blessed to have Jaehwa Shim, an English teacher living near Seoul, South Korea in this religious liberty testimony episode.  In South Korea, all adult males are required to fulfill mandatory military service for almost two years.  In the South Korean military, religious accommodations are often difficult.   In this episode, Jaehwa shares his experience of being court-martialed and later imprisoned because he wanted to keep the Sabbath during his military service.  This is an inspiring testimony of faith, courage, and reliance on God to overcome a challenge to liberty of conscience.   
Jaehwa currently operates a homeschool co-op with his wife Lily, near Seoul, South Korea.  He is also very passionate about Sabbath School as a ministry for outreach and evangelism at the Sahmyook International SDA Church and heads a young adult ministry called Jaerim. 

For this episode of Healing the Nations Podcast, we are extremely blessed to have historian Kevin Burton, professor at Southern Adventist University in this vital and powerful episode on Adventist History.   Through Professor Burton, we will learn how the Seventh-day Adventist Church advocated for equal rights for African Americans,  during the Civil War and Reconstruction without aligning with partisan politics.  Professor Burton also shares a fascinating history of government surveillance on the Seventh-day Adventist Church from the Civil War all the way to World War I and how it impacted how we present Bible prophecy, and in particular, Revelation 13:11.  This is a must-listen for any Seventh-day Adventists.  We encourage you to listen and share this episode.   You can also access more articles from Professor Burton at the Seventh-day Adventist Encyclopedia on this link.
